User Levels
Level up as you show up and contribute
Levels are earned from XP
Your level reflects how active and engaged you've been on Commune. Earn XP by posting, replying, and making successful matches - with bonus XP available for high-quality contributions.
Levels are separate from membership tiers. They're a signal to other members that you've been showing up and contributing over time.
What earns XP
Create a post
+5 XPBase XP for adding a top-level post.
Create a reply
+5 XPBase XP for joining a conversation.
Mutual match
+5 XPXP for a successful builder match.
Daily XP earning from capped activity is based on your membership plan. Likes, bookmarks, awards, and post popularity affect the post score and algorithm, but they do not award XP.
Quality bonus XP
Posts and replies may earn bonus Gold and XP after our AI quality checker evaluates them. We recognise that thoughtful contributions take real effort, so quality writing is rewarded above the base rate.
